The Birder takes flight; red carpet premiere announced for Windsor

The Birder, a revenge-comedy set in the world of birdwatching, will have it’s red carpet premiere April 3 at the Capitol Theatre & Arts Centre.

Filmed entirely in Windsor-Essex, The Birder stars Tom Cavanagh (TV’s Ed) as mild-mannered Ron Spencer who, after being passed over for the Head of Ornithology position at a local birding park, decides to plot revenge in an effort to win back his birding legacy. The film also features performances by Mark Rendall (30 Days of Night), Graham Greene (The Green Mile) and Fred Willard (Anchorman). The film was co-written by Windsorites Mike Stasko and Theodore Bezaire, who also directed.

Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A with the cast and crew, and an after-party.

A portion of the proceeds for the event will benefit Transitions to Betterness, a community organization dedicated to ensuring comfort for patients and families living with cancer and other diseases.
