You can now buy an ugly Christmas sweater featuring Jose Bautista’s momentous bat flip against the Texas Rangers in Game 5 of the American League Division Series last month.
Mayor John Tory and the Toronto Blue Jays have already been in touch with the jersey’s creator, Tony Madalone, the owner of Cleveland-based company Fresh Brewed Tees.
“Joey Bats is definitely the best seller so far this year,” Madalone said.
“It’s already rivaling some [of the most popular] stuff from last year, too.”
The sweater is adorned with the messages ‘Merry Flippin’ Christmas’ and ‘Joey to the World’ alongside the immortal image of Bautista hurling his bat into the air.
One Blue Jays fan has already gone further than purchase clothing bearing the Bautista bat flip – one of tattoo artist Scoot Mason’s clients had the moment etched onto their thigh during a five and a half hour inking session.
