The Windsor Express rebounded from their loss Saturday against London, defeating the visiting Brampton A’s Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.
Windsor had a slim 23-22 lead in the first quarter, but built their lead to 52-41 at halftime. Brampton took third, before Windsor managed a 22-18 fourth quarter to keep their 9-0 home unbeaten streak alive.
"We are trying to build a fan base and a brand," said Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations Bill Jones in a release. "We have always said we refuse to lose at home and right now we are doing the right things to make that happen."
Quinnel Brown led the Express with 16 in the first half and a game high 30 points - the third time this season Brown has reached the 30 point plateau. Chris Commons followed with a double-double, netting 17 points and 16 assists.
Windsor wore special uniforms for the game, honouring the Windsor V8’s team – the 1936 Canadian Champion and Olympic Silver medallists.
With the win, the Express move 1.5 games ahead of the London Lightning in the Central Conference.
Saturday, January 10 Windsor welcomes the Saint John Mill Rats for their lone visit to the WFCU Centre this season. Tip-off is 7 pm.
