Lucas Wallmark scored twice and Leafs first-rounder William Nylander had a pair of assists in Sweden’s 6-3 win over defending champion Finland in world junior hockey quarter-final action Friday at the Air Canada Centre.
Gustav Forsling, Adam Brodecki, Adrian Kempe and Oskar Lindblom also scored for Sweden, which avenged last year’s 3-2 loss to Finland in the world junior final in Malmo and will face Russia in Sunday’s semifinals.
Swedish goalie Linus Soderstrom stopped 30 shots. Ville Husso made 29 saves for Finland.
The teams were tied 3-3 before Sweden erupted for three goals in the final period.
