Pan Am Games watch for July 21: Canada goes for bronze in beach volleyball

OurWindsor.Ca

Our best bet for what to watch at the Pan Am Games on Tuesday:

What: Beach Volleyball

Where: Pan Am Park (Grounds of the Exhibition)

When: 3 p.m.

Who: Melissa Humana-Paredes and Taylor Pischke

Why: This the last day for beach volleyball. If you really need an excuse to go watch beach, consider this: It’s time for medals and Humana-Paredes and Pischke will be competing for bronze against Brazil.

The duo — both just 22 and paired together since 2012 — have a chance to make history. No Canadian women’s team has won a Pan Am medal, finishing just off the podium in fourth three times.

“A bronze medal is pretty amazing too, we wanted gold but will now focus on bronze,” Pischke said after the duo’s loss to Cuba.

Argentina plays Chile for women’s gold. Brazil plays Mexico for men’s gold.
