21-year-old man arrested for allegedly assaulting bus driver

Windsor Police have arrested a 21-year-old Windsor man following an alleged assault on a Transit Windsor bus driver Wednesday night.

At approximately 10:40 pm January 20 police were dispatched to the area of Lauzon Road and Little River Road. According to police, investigation revealed that a man had got onto the bus and was allegedly "being disorderly and causing a disturbance." The driver stopped the bus and asked the suspect to leave, which lead to an argument. The suspect then allegedly assaulted the driver and left the scene.

The driver sustained serious facial injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Officers were able to identify the suspect, and at approximately 9 am January 21 they arrested him without incident at his home.

A 21-year-old Windsor male will be charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
