Customers of a children’s store in Hong Kong got a squealing surprise when a wild boar crashed through the ceiling.
Shoppers were stunned to see something punching through the plaster in the showroom ceiling as the 55-pound hog dropped in, legs first.
“It just came in out of nowhere and turned around at the show window,” the shop manager told a reporter. "It also pushed open the fitting room door and got in.”
The boar, an animal commonly found in the forests surrounding Hong Kong, had apparently climbed up a ladder in the shop’s back room before falling through the store ceiling.
Once inside, the scared boar appeared to frantically route his escape as people looked on in disbelief at the unexpected shopper. Local news reports claimed the VIP shopper was a three-foot-long juvenile female.
The boar continued to run all over the store looking for an escape, or perhaps a bargain, knocking over mannequins and store signage before police captured the frantic female.
According to the South China Morning Post, the boar was eventually tranquilized by a vet and taken to an animal rehab center for observation.
