Arlene Dickinson leaving Dragons’ Den

After eight seasons, she says on Facebook this morning, it’s time to chase her own big dreams.

Dragons’ Den star Arlene Dickinson says she’s leaving the show after eight seasons.

With the hashtag #someoneelsesturn, Dickinson said, “It’s not an easy decision to leave this show, which is about so much more than entertainment. It’s about dreams, and having the courage to chase them.”

Addressing her fans on her Facebook page Friday morning, she wrote, “I know all about dreams. The opportunity to be a Dragon has made some of mine come true. But I still have some big dreams, ones I want and need to chase.

“Soon, I'll be ready to spell out more about what’s next for me, but now is not the time.”

Dickinson launched Arlene Dickinson Enterprises in 2012 to invest in people who were self-employed while also providing lifestyle support through a magazine and website under the YouInc. banner.

She is also CEO of Venture Communications. She joined Dragons’ Den in 2007 in its second season.

First Kevin leaves, then David and now Arlene. The show won't be the same without them.

They should get rid of the guy in the pajamas. Has he made even one deal? He should be saying, since I have no money for clothes, I'm out..

Jim just does what everyone else does so watch for him to exit soon.

Kevin and Jim have been there since the beginning. Kevin has that gig on the American version of the show, Shark Tank and Jim is there for the fun of it.
