Windsor Police identify Benjamin Ave. homicide victim

Windsor Police have confirmed the identity of the victim in the December 11 homicide at 1566 Benjamin Avenue.

Cassandra Kaake, 31, was seven months pregnant at the time of her death. She was discovered inside her residence by Windsor firefighters, who had just extinguished a fire at the duplex.

Postmortem examination results indicate that she died as a result of blood loss caused by severe trauma to her body.

Police believe that the perpetrator(s) may have suffered wounds during the struggle.

The Windsor Police Major Crime Unit is conducting the investigation.
