Windsor Police investigating body at Benjamin Ave. fire as murder

UPDATED: Windsor Police are treating death of a woman whose body was found inside a Benjamin Avenue duplex following a fire at the home early Thursday morning as a homicide.

Windsor Fire crews were called to 1566 Benjamin Avenue at approximately 2:30 am December 11, and had the fire extinguished around 45-minutes later.

At approximately 2:45 am, police were dispatched the scene after firefighters discovered the body of a 31-year-old woman inside.

The Windsor Police Major Crime Unit is conducting the investigation.

A postmortem examination will be conducted tomorrow morning at London Health Sciences in London Ontario.
