Australian man leaps onto tiger shark, is not eaten

An Australian man decided to jump onto the back of a tiger shark swimming nearby, after a dare from a friend

If your friends jumped onto a tiger shark, would you jump too?

Maybe not – but for one Australian man, a dare by a friend to leap onto the back of a tiger shark swimming nearby was enough to take the plunge.

“Trying to catch this tiger shark,” one man on the boat declares. “So I tell ya to jump on this tiger shark.”

Our intrepid jumper hesitates.

“You gonna jump on it? I dare ya,” the first man says. “It’s only a little tiger.”

He goes for it, but his friends wisely do not follow.

The man clambers back onto his boat shortly after entering the water, apparently unharmed. Tiger sharks do have a reputation for being man-eaters, and are second only to great white sharks in number of attacks on humans, according to National Geographic.

A video showing the leap of faith has received over 600,000 views on YouTube, and four times as many dislikes as likes.

It’s probably unnecessary, but we recommend you do not try this at home.
