Best of the Best: Ice Bucket Challenge!

If you haven't heard about the Ice Bucket Challenge it is time to get your head out of your... the sand.

So what is the Ice Bucket Challenge all about? Basically it is a social media campaign that aims to raise awareness and money to fight ALS - also commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. You dump a bucket of ice water over your head, challenge your friend(s) to do the same, and then post to your social accounts. #IceBucketChallenge

How are the funds raised for ALS? Simple. If you do not take on the challenge with in 24 hours of being called out... than you are asked to make a donation to ALS. Much like Prime Minister Stephen Harper (called out by no other than Rob Ford) and President Barack Obama (called out by Justin Bieber and Lebron James). Though we secretly believe Obama did it anyway.

Of course, many who take on the challenge also donate. At the time this article was published, almost $13 million has been raised for the cause.

Why has it taken off? Well we humans need little encouragement to do stupid things and then post it on the Internet to live forever. Regardless, it's a great cause.

According to - Lou Gerig's disease is a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed. Every day two or three Canadians die of the disease. The disease takes its own course with each individual. Professor Stephen Hawking, genius physicist, is a rare case as he has lived with the disease for over 50 years.

Ever wonder what it would be like to live with ALS? Bo Stern's blog post is a great place to start.

Below are some of our favourites. We'll probably add more. If the one that makes you laugh most is not on this list send it to us so we can keep the laughs going.

Kermit the Frog. The famous amphibian claims to be the first to accept the challenge fully nude. Well played sir.

Tom Cruise. Top Gun and MI5 director Chris McQuarrie accept Hugh Jackman's challenge and take about 7.5 buckets of ice water each.

Bill Gates. Smart, funny and obviously couldn't just pour a bucket over his head.

Anna Wintour - the frosty, long-serving Vogue editor-in-chief accepted the challenge from her daughter Bee Shaffer.

P.K. Subban - Montreal Canadiens superstar doesn't take the easy way out. He takes on a dump truck of ice cold water.

Sgt. Matt D'Asti, Public Information Officer with the Windsor Police Service, accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge from Constable Ken Steeves (London Police Media Officer) and Detective Andy Randall of the Windsor Police.

Charlie Sheen - donated $10K - after pouring it over his head.

David Grohl and the Foo Fighters accepted the challenge in a very theatrical fashion and called on Jack Black, John Travolta and Stephen King to take the challenge. Hmmm... Stephen King.

Justin Timberlake - passed it on to Jimmy Fallon, Steve Higgins and The Roots.

Rob Ford - you knew it was coming. He called out Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Jimmy Kimmel, and Premier Kathleen Wynne. Rob looks a little frosty.

Jimmy Kimmel - hilarious as always. He was challenged by many including "the honourable Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford".

Jimmy Fallon - who had been called out by A LOT of people.

Dr. Dre - the ultimate cool guy... Dre has called out Eminem, Snoop Dog and Kendrick Lamar.

Justin Bieber... just because.

More to come...
