Target Canada has hired consultants familiar with the Canadian marketplace to conduct a 30-day review of operations, including an overall comprehensive strategic assessment, said newly-appointed president Mark Schindele on Friday, in his first interview with the Canadian media.
Schindele was appointed on Tuesday to replace Tony Fisher, who led opening of 124 stores in Canada last year, but lost nearly $1-billion in the process.
“With 30 days we plan on having an aggressive road map forward,” said Schindele.
“We know that we disappointed our guests with our experience and our number one goal is to improve our guest experience as fast as possible. I think the key to doing that is improving our operations and we are going to be focusing our entire team on those efforts.
