Making the most of your kids' March Break

You don’t have to go to Florida or the Caribbean to have fun at March Break.

For busy parents, March Break can be a nightmare trying to figure out how to keep the kids busy all week. While other families are going on cruises or to Disney World, you’re just hoping not to hear the words, “I’m bored” at any point throughout the week.

You don’t have to go to Florida or the Caribbean to have fun at March Break – there are plenty of local camps and attractions to entertain your kids until it’s time to go back to school!

Just Dance

March can be a funny time of year, weather-wise. It truly can go in like a lion and go out like a lamb. After what feels like a long winter, your kids probably have a serious case of cabin fever. Instead of letting them release all that cooped up energy all over your house, sign them up for dance camp and let them shake the sillies out!

If dance isn’t their thing, look into what other camps are being offered in your area. There are sports camps, art camps, science camps, and more! These are perfect if you have to work while they’re off school.

Where the Wild Things Are

Do your kids love animals? Sign them up for horseback riding camp! They will learn how to handle, groom, and ride a horse, while also learning more about farm life and how a stable is managed.

If your family is more interested in seeing wild and exotic animals, take a trip to a local zoo. Check out Jungle Cat World and see some of the world’s most impressive animals, including tigers, jaguars, and wolves!

Make a Splash

Just because you’re not splashing in the turquoise seas of the Caribbean doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in the water during March Break. Take a trip to Niagara and play at one of the many indoor waterparks! Sit on a lounge chair while the kids swim and slide and splash about, or be a big kid and join in the fun as well!

While you’re in Niagara Falls, enjoy some of the many family-friendly attractions. Play mini-golf, watch a magic show, take in a film at the IMAX theatre, and more!

Get Outta Town!

If the weak Canadian dollar prevented you from booking that trip to Florida, don’t fret, there are plenty of local places you can take the family to for a couple of days to get out of the house. Whether you stay at a lodge and go skiing, or if you enjoy a one-night stay in Niagara for the whole family, it’s just nice to get away and do something fun as a family!

March Break doesn’t have to be stressful! If you plan ahead and get creative your week will fly by without your kids once uttering the phrase, “we’re bored!”

Have a safe and happy March Break!
